I love to read! If you've ever gone through my house you may have noticed exactly how much I love to read. I have rows and rows of books taking up small spaces throughout my home. People have told me that I should go to a library since I'm spending so much money on books every year but the truth is that I have a problem with collecting things I love. I enjoy every aspect of a good book; the way the corners of my favorite books get a little tattered, the smell of a classic novel, the crisp paper turning soft with use. To me, it's not just the story, it's the whole package.

One day my dream home will contain one of these:
But, until that day, I will just have to live with little libraries scattered throughout every available space in my home.
While wondering through blog-land today I came across some summer reading lists (
Oprah's, Vogue, Barnes and Noble) and realized that I often get asked what my favorite books are. So here is what my summer reading list would look like if I were to make one...
Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
The Pact by Jodi Picoult
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (and the rest of the series)
The Odyssey by Homer, translated by Robert Faggles
Confesstions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Wicked by Gregory Maguire
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
Some of these are very light (
Shopaholic and
Twilight) but I guarantee that you will get sucked in and will read the rest of the series within the month, they are that good. Hope that you can enjoy some of these books too!
